Decorative Concrete

Concrete is no longer a product only to be used beneath your feet. People have discovered that concrete can be used in ways more than one, as cosmetic and aesthetic upgrades to various structures, and as a result, decorative concrete is a term growing popular amongst designers and architects. Decorative concrete is all about adding beauty and appeal to the structure while still retaining its function as a part of the building.

Types of decorative concrete are obtained through various processes that are also given away by their respective names. They include stamped concrete, acid stains, coloured concrete, dyed concrete, polished concrete and more. Micro cement toppings are used to create a canvas for decorative treatments such as stain, dyes, textures and stencilled patterns, and acid staining is used to create earth toned colours on the concrete surface. Both can be used indoors and outdoors, and for homes and offices alike. While the micro cement provides unlimited design possibilities, the acid stains light up the ambiance and provide a protective layer to the floor. Bharat Floorings also has the Terra Natura™, a concrete that is patterned or embossed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, wood, and various other patterns and textures. Being cost efficient, stamped concrete is commonly used for sidewalks, swimming pool decks, and interior flooring.

Indian Patent Stone or IPS flooring can be grey or coloured. When red, it is also referred as "red oxide flooring". This was used extensively in old houses being basic but beautiful flooring and providing good wearing properties. IPS can be coloured and is given either a wax coat or a sealer coat to help preserve the said colour and prevent stains. Bharat Floorings offers IPS in 30 colours, and with either a smooth or a rough finish. It has been used in many places including commercial and residential spaces. Many interior designers have opted for IPS for their own living spaces.

While decorative concrete is mostly used for floors, walkways and more, some like to think out of the box and use it to transform their space into a work of art.

All About Those Floors!

Artistic creations don’t have to be confined to your walls. When it comes to your house, there are plenty of ways to infuse beauty and design. From the décor to the furniture, each piece of your overall vision can be accented with an artsy essence. There is, however, one important element that plays a crucial role in enhancing the aesthetics of your house! Wondering what that is? That’s right! It’s undoubtedly your flooring!! The floor design reflects the concept and quality of your life and is an extension of who you are. Adding interesting designs to your flooring not only breathes life into the space but also defines its energy. Selecting the correct design that blends in well with the interiors of your house is important to give a wholesome finish. Without the right flooring, your room can have design elements in all the right places and still not look right. The design idea for your floor must depend entirely upon your personal taste and also the room interiors.

A Beginner's Guide to Tile Selection

Re-designing a house is a delightful experience that not only brings joy but also the promise of something new and exciting! However, it requires a lot of patience and hours of planning. Right from ideation to execution, it is a lengthy process involving putting our imagination on a piece of paper and then into actual design. While there are experts to assist you, it’s never easy to make decisions when it comes to designing your home, especially when it comes to making the right choice for the one part of your house that you set your feet on every single day, and that endures with utmost resilience every single activity that you perform day in, day out; your Floors! No doubt that your floors are an integral aspect of your home and careful and weighted decisions need to be made when choosing the right kind. The type of flooring you select lays the ground work for the rest of your home. Here are some key guidelines to help you make the right decision: Nature of your Space A

Creating Envy-Inducing Outdoor Spaces!

If you share our love for the outdoors, you’re going to want to stick around to read this one!  There’s nothing more rejuvenating or invigorating than spending time in the outdoors. While some of us have to escape city life or book a staycation in the hills or by the beach, others have the luxury of stepping onto their patio/terrace or garden within their own homes to enjoy the same downtime that we seek elsewhere!  Whether you use your outdoor spaces as much as you should, no one can deny that there is a definite advantage to having an outdoor extension to your indoor spaces, one that you can do up in a way that allows you to enjoy nature and ‘me-time’ anytime you wish! While most homeowners will spend more time inside of their home than outside admiring the exterior, nothing can replace the joy of having an outdoor space, no matter how big or small to spend time with your family and friends.       Whether you're lucky enough to have a spacious terrace or enjoy the charm of a  c
