The Heritage™ Walk

Visuals have a larger impact on how well we remember things. We remember some of our childhood stories better maybe because we read them or saw them on television. It is also about how well an artist tells a story that makes a lasting impression. The world is full of stories if you’re careful enough to notice. Some find a story beyond the imaginable while others in the simplest of things. What makes a good story is the art of presenting it to the audience. In this world driven by technology, it is as difficult to awe people as simple it is to reach out to them. Many modern story tellers have discovered an apt tool that has helped their stories reach thousands of people. A tool that we know as Instagram, and the story tellers – Instagrammers! It was the second day and the first Saturday morning of April when Bharat Floorings welcomed a select few Instagrammers for a walk that would go on to become an amazing experience for everyone involved. BFT had been planning The Heritage™ Wa...

Paradise in the Hills

What follows after a long and tiring week is the desire to escape the routine. Some people find rejuvenation at one of the fancy places in the city crowded with people who come together with a similar motive to celebrate the weekend, while others believe in catharsis in the midst of natural serenity. For the latter kind, many scenic hill stations not too far from the city have loyally served the purpose. A popular getaway for city folks is Lonavala, in the Pune district of Maharashtra. This tiny hill station is located at a distance of 96 kilometres from Mumbai and comfortably connected by the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. What’s more exciting than a hill station being easily accessible is to own a palatial farmhouse at such a lovely location. Nidhi Kanoi is one of those lucky few. Working as one of the directors at the Mumbai based TechFab India, Nidhi more than deserves and takes pride in her getaway home. Rishita Das and Rushda Hakim, partners at Design Office, and two of youngest, brigh...

Celebrating Womanhood

The contemporary Indian society depicts women in various forms ranging from homemakers to corporate CEOs and from soldiers to doctors. Not only this but our country is often referred to as Bharat Mata (Mother India), and we also speak of the wilderness as Mother Nature. Women have been entitled to equal powers and amenities by various governing authorities across the globe. With March 8 being celebrated as International Women’s Day every year, we at Bharat Floorings and Tiles stand to celebrate the women around us not just for a single day but through the entire course of time. We have been working on collaborations with some immensely talented designers who have been instrumental in creating the current landscape of some major locations across the country. Here are some of them. To start with, we would like to introduce Tejal Mathur whose profile outlines work in the field of interior design and architecture covering the domains of residential, retail and commercial spaces. Luxury amidst Art

An artist needs not only a good canvas but brushes and paints of equal caliber to create a masterpiece that leaves the world awestruck for centuries to come. So what happens when two luxury service giants team up to create something artistic? Yes, they need supplies of the highest amplitude with desired style. Then what results is something that just cannot be compared to other fine works of art, but sets its own benchmark in history. Villa Azul is one such example of a super exclusive luxury home that’s nothing less than a work of art. Located in a quiet, secluded part of Anjuna in Goa, this villa is a perfect getaway home by Isprava Developer. For those who aren’t aware, Isprava is a notable name when it comes to exquisite luxury homes nestled in natural serenity.   To build something as ambitious and artistic as Villa Azul, teaming up with Studio MoMo was a cardinal choice. Studio MoMo, the brainchild of Gurmeet Akali and Benjamin Robb, is environmentally...

Tiles with a "Tea"

Tea, famously called Chai, is unarguably one of the most consumed beverages in India. The refreshing aroma and the prominent taste, from a roadside stall to a 5-star lobby, are enough to lift up your spirits and get you going. Hindustan Uniliver has taken the tea drinking experience to a whole new level since the launch of The Taj Mahal Tea House. A very coming of age cafe, The Taj Mahal Tea House offers a variety of beverages, savouries and food dishes, some surprisingly well crafted with blends of tea from across the world. However, a  cafe  needs to be more than just about the food. It also attracts loyalty through elements like the ambiance, the service, the  decor ; and everything with the right amount of class and creativity just works the magic. Among the most prominent of the aesthetics at The Taj Mahal Tea House are the tiles. A combination of the Temple pattern Heritage ™ tiles and Giza pattern by Bharat Floorings and Tiles give the place a ...

90 Years and Still Counting!

It takes ambition, perseverance and effort to reach the epitome of success. One then realises that much difficulty does not lie in getting to the top but staying there. Living up to the expectations of close ones, well-wishers and, those who look up to you for inspiration becomes more than a responsibility. Some wither away with the winds of change while others bloom brighter than ever. And, just to dust it off, we aren’t talking about Fauja Singh and all that has been trending. We do respect him, beyond doubt, with all our heart! However, what we are looking at is a brand that just deserves to be as personified as our marathon hero. “Bharat Floorings and Tiles” was founded more than 90 years ago in 1922 and since then it has been one memorable marathon. The independence struggle was spreading like a wildfire, and with the advice of Jamshed Mehta to achieve economic freedom from imported British goods, Pherozesha Sidhwa abandoned his academics and set up a tile manufact...
